Aal around Aalborg: weloveaalborg photo exhibit, cycle tour, wine&music, harbour music, Latin dancing, art, rabbits, yoga, job search-related events, and Regatta teaser
It is going to be a sunny weekend, which is to the benefit of many of the events and activities listed below. I don’t have much more to say at this point, other than get out there and enjoy yourself!
Friday, 10 June
Scandic Aalborg City and VisitAalborg want to show that yes, we love Aalborg! So much so that we invited everyone to take pictures of our lovely city with the tag weloveaalborg and share their love with us via Instagram. The result is many really, really cool pictures from which we have selected 14 and which will be presented at the opening of Scandic Aalborg City today from 16:00 to 18:00. We will provide something to drink, some snacks and good background music when the lobby’s walls in the hotel will be transformed by 14 Instagrammers’ examples of some of what makes Aalborg wonderful. Director of Scandic Aalborg City, Kuno Becker Rasmussen, will welcome guests, after which Kim Mikael Jensen from VisitAalborg will say a word about the initiative. Of the 14 photos on display, we will draw a lucky winner for an overnight stay for 2 at Scandic Aalborg City, dinner at Spisehus, and a year’s membership to Club Kunsten+ Utzon. So come and get your Friday beer while admiring the city’s very first user created Insta-gallery. You will also have the opportunity to greet some of the photographers behind the images. Scandic Aalborg City is at Europa Plads 1, 9000 Aalborg. Free entry. FB page for the event here.
If you like to cycle and are curious about secret sights, different angles, interesting view-points and alternative back-routes high and low in Aalborg and Nørresundby, join tour guide Mike White, chairman of the Aalborg branch of the Danish Cyclist Federation, who will lead a 10 km round trip bicycle ride through selected parts of the city area tonight. The pace will be moderate and there will be a number of narrative stops where Mike will fill in with info on the city and the chosen sights. Please make sure that your bike is in good condition. Bring water and a little bit of something to eat (banana, muesli bar etc.) Meeting point: Studenterhuset, next to the fountain, departure 17:30. Return expected at 20:00. Here is the FB event page link.
It’s Friday, and D’Wine Bar wants to help you celebrate. Tonight they provide Friday mood music with Ulrik Music – and promise that both rosé and white wine are in the fridge! If you prefer red, they are also able to deliver. They also have delicious Spanish tapas, including serrano ham and cheese. Music starts at 21:30. More info here.
