fridafamilyHuset’s last art exhibition of the year opens Sunday, 15 November from 12:00 to 14:00. The Franko family will be represented in Huset’s Gallery with works by all three members of the artistic family, who are of Hungarian descent. The show will continue through 17 December. On Sunday, 15 November at 15:00 at Studenterhuset you have the chance to meet Haifaa Awad, a 29-year-old Danish-Syrian doctor who has worked in a field hospital in Syria. From there, she reported to Dagbladet Information in diary form about life in the hospital, its patients and the Syrian people’s suffering. She will talk about her experiences in Syria. If you like whisky, Utzon Center has an event for you! Next Thursday, 19 November they will hold ‘Hør & Smag,’ at which you can meet Anders Bilgram from Nordic Brænderi and Martin Vesterby from Stauning Whisky and hear about the work they do to create their world-renowned liquors. Savour their unique products, which are sold and served throughout Europe, including Noma and our own JØRN, and was awarded a prize among the finest in the world. There will be a lecture about the making of the whiskys from 17:00 to 18:00, and a tasting from 18:00 to 19:00. Price: lecture only – 60 kr. For students who would like a better idea of the culture Aalborg has on tap, Study Aalborg is offering a ‘Kulture Crawl’ next Thursday, 19 November from 18:00 to 23:00. Start off at Kunsthal Nord in Nordkraft, followed by theatre at Det Hem’lige Theater, an excerpt from Talent Academy’s show “Nat”, and finished off with a concert by Cancer at Studenterhuset. Snacks and drinks will be provided along the way. The experience is FREE, and includes a goodie bag with the following (I wish I could join): – Free tickets to Utzon Center, free tickets to Svømmeland Nørresundby, a cup of free coffee in Biffen Art Cinema, free tickets to North Jutland Historical Museum, 2 free tickets to Aalborg Pirates (ice hockey) match the 29th of November at 14:00, and free tickets to Aalborg Zoo.
