Posted on Updated on

It was a tough call, deciding which upcoming events to highlight. But I managed to do so. Of course, this is a luxury problem – it means that there is a lot going on in Aalborg, and that is very good news. Surely you will find something that interests you during the upcoming weekend and beyond. The Events Calendar is updated, too, so you can get an overview of all 22 events between today and next Wednesday. Have a good weekend!

Highlights

“Cuddle Market” at Huset today – help bring music to the asylum centers of North Denmark!

krammermarked

Today, 2 October from noon to 16:00 Huset will hold a Krammermarked, or ‘Cuddle Market,’ to benefit the refugees arriving to Denmark. All are invited – refugees, migrants, Danes, poor, rich, young, old, Danish and foreign students, seniors and everyone in between – for an afternoon of flea market, art, food, music, and fun, with the purpose of collecting a bunch of money for music equipment to give to the region’s asylum centers. In addition to the flea market, there will be musical performances, vegetarian soup available for 10kr, and an art auction. Please consider stopping by! Here is more info.

folkevandringWalk for the proper treatment of refugees next Tuesday – Aalborg, Odense and Copenhagen

Here is an idea: come to the New to North Denmark Fair at 16:00 and then make your way to Gammel Torv, where hundreds will gather for a walk to Kildeparken to show their support for an ethical and fair treatment of the refugees coming to Europe. The walk, which will take place from 17:00 to 20:00 in three Danish cities, includes more than just a walk, though – speeches, music, and fellowship will also be part of the experience. A friend of mine is helping organize it, so I guarantee it will be a good event. Here is the FB page, where you can read more and find the detailed program in Danish and English.
