Here is a notice posted by the DSU Aalborg’s International Committee on Facebook. All are welcome. The discussion will be in English. The event is free of charge. For some background on the project, read my previous post about it here. For more information about the event click here.

DSU (Social Democratic Youths) Aalborg’s International Committee has the pleasure of inviting you to a discussion tomorrow, 25 February at Kastetvej 24 (DSU Aalborg’s home, near the Sprogskole) at 19:00 with Rasmus Prehn (Social Democratic member of Folketinget – Danish Parliament) about the future development of Aalborg and the multiple implications the light rail project will have for the city and its residents.

The project is expected to be completed in 2021 and the light rail line will stretch across the city from east to west, providing easy, fast transportation between the main social and service institutions of the city, such as the new Aalborg University Hospital, Aalborg University, Gigantium, Musikkens Hus, and Nordkraft as well as connecting the thousands of new students and residents who will be living in the vicinity of the network.

Agenda:
1) Introduction
2) Presentation of the project by Rasmus Prehn
3) Q&A session and debate
4) Closing, networking

Hot and cold beverages as well as light snacks will be provided to all participants. We are looking forward meeting you all! 🙂

I am just curious how they will solve the steep slope climbing next to Gigantium and Bornholmsgade.
These are the common obstacles for buses when it starts snowing which is usually solved by “a pinch of salt”, but I guess it is going to be a continuous struggle for the light-rail.

I have no idea, Marius. Good question. Will you attend tomorrow? Maybe Rasmus will address that problem…

Maybe we will come, if not too exhausted after the parent-teacher meetings, could be fun to meet the International Committee 🙂
