Aalborg Kommune launches sub-section of website in English

Posted on Updated on

kommuneThis morning, Monday, 3 November, Aalborg Kommune launched the sub-section of their website in English. Whereas it was difficult to find any information in English on the municipality’s site before, there are now four sections written for English-speakers: Moving to Aalborg, Living in Aalborg, Doing business in Aalborg, and About Aalborg. Within each of these (save the fourth) are further sub-sections about everything from finding a place to live to help for businesses that want to set up their offices here – and lots of subjects in between. Some sections are better fleshed out than others (and there are quite a few links to other sites that cover those topics) but this is a vast improvement over the previous vacuum of nothingness for expats/international residents who do not understand Danish…

I do hope there are plans to develop the About Aalborg section, however, which currently provides only a link to a brochure called Aalborg in Figures (stats on Aalborg). It would be nice to have a concise history of the city, for example. A welcome statement from the mayor might also add a nice touch to the front-page of the English site. What do you think?

It looks a great starting, Sarah Holsen. I’ve found there two interesting issues: one brouchure about Aalborg welcoming foreigns and describing the city http://www.aalborg.dk/media/1438035/We_want_you_magazine.pdf And updated information about how to start up business in DK http://www.aalborg.dk/media/1433305/Establishing_a_Business_in_Denmark_2014.pdf and examples of foreign companies here http://www.investindk.com/Business-cases Great article Sarah Holsen, your blog is truly awesome! Thanks for ALL you are doing to keep us updated.
