Self-service books: Aalborg Main Library to open an additional 35 hours per week

Posted on Updated on

DSC_4845Have you ever found yourself in bed at 8pm, yearning to read a good book yet staring at an empty bedside table? Neither have I. But IF you ever find yourself in such a position, the Aalborg Main Library can now help! Starting Monday, 17 February the Aalborg Main Library will be open from 8:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00 to 22:00 Saturday and Sunday. Thanks to the resounding success of extended hours since 2012 (opening at 8:00 instead of 10:00), the library’s administration have given the green light to further ‘self-service’ hours at the main branch. This means that you can visit to borrow materials, play, do research, or study with friends long past dinner time – and all day Sunday! While personnel will be available from 10:00 to 19:00 Monday to Thursday (18:00 on Fridays/15:00 Saturdays), you’re on your own outside those times. So now you can relieve that itch to read before bed – even at 9:55pm! 🙂 (See my previous post on the Aalborg Public Library here.)

Great news. It’s certainly very useful to be able to use the services at library in more times suitable for us.
Your coverage of Aalborg is quite appreciated and the elegance you show in arranging the article is even better. Please keep them coming 🙂

I agree, Vijay. The extra hours will help a lot of people out, I think. Students will be especially happy to have the study space until 10pm. But Sunday opening is fantastic for us as a family – the children love to play there! Thanks for your comment.
